Trogir:
Set on a small island just off the mainland, Trogir is one of the jewels of the Dalmatian
coast, with many splendid monuments.  The Greeks settled here in 380 BC, it was
destroyed by the Saracen in 1123, and in 1420 came under Venetian rule.  It is now a
UNESCO world heritage site.
The historic centre is on an island encircled by a wall with two gates.  A bridge joins the
island to the mainland and another links it to the island of Čiovo.  Trogir is a 30km drive
from Croatia’s second city, Split and only a 10 minute drive from Split international
airport.

Facilities:
Trogir has a wide range of restaurants, cafés and bars to suit all tastes.   For shopping,
there are supermarkets and a daily fish and vegetable market plus many boutiques.   A
summer music festival of both classical and folk music presented in churches and
open squares runs from June to August.
There is a 162 berth ACI Marina with all modern facilities and its own charter fleet
based in Trogir.  From here ferries service Split and the local islands.  There is ample
scope for all water sports, an established diving school on the west of the island and a
tennis complex outside town.

Climate:
Central Dalmatia enjoys a mild climate which is noticeably warmer than Istria and the
Gulf of Kvarner with an average of 2700 sunny hours per year.

Split:
Split is a large city with art galleries, museums, cinemas and theatres offering opera,
drama and ballet. Facing onto the harbour, Diocletian’s Palace is one of the most
imposing Roman ruins in existence with 3,000 people living within its boundaries.  On
the outskirts in the direction of Trogir are two large modern shopping centres - Mercator
and Emmezetta.

Public Transport:
An hourly bus service from the apartments to Trogir bus station. For a more leisurely trip
there is also a ferry service in summer.  From Trogir depart numerous bus services to
Split and other destinations.  From Split, there are daily ferries to the beautiful islands of
Hvar, Bol, Solta, Korcula and Vis, and regular ferry services to Ancona and Pescara in
Italy.  Split Airport is well served year round with scheduled flights with Czech Airlines,
British Airways, Lufthansa and Croatian Air and also low cost carriers - Easyjet, German
Wings, Wizz Air, Air Berlin.
